Wanda Jonell "Granny" Moore

Wanda Jonell “Granny” Moore, 85 of Hearne, TX passed away on January 12, 2023. Granny was born in Hillsboro, TX on February 5, 1937 to Rex C. Lewis and Edna Thiessen. She married the love of her life, John Frank Moore on June 20, 1955 in Hillsboro, TX. In this union they were blessed with three children.

Granny’s true passion was always sewing, needle work and quilting. Granny was a member of Five Points Baptist Church for many years where she was very active and loved being a pianist. She loved to camp, play cards, board games and she kept Wal-Mart in business buying yarn.

She started her career at the Early Bird Shoppe as a seamstress. After retirement she enjoyed her part time job with Texas Equine Hospital, known as Mrs. Jo, where she helped set up the staffs daily meals.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Jessie Lewis, her brother Robert Allen Lewis of Hillsboro, TX and Daughter-in-law Renee Moore of Bryan, TX.

Granny leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving Husband of 67 years. Her Son John Moore of Bryan, TX, Son David and wife Connie Moore of Hearne, TX. Daughter Lisa and husband Kirk Williams of Nacagdoches TX, 13 Grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at Five Points Baptist Church at 9157 FM 2549 Bryan, TX 11808. The viewing will be held on Monday January 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Burial at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, TX.
