Vincent Allen Reed, 68, passed away on June 8, 2025, at his home in Hearne, Texas. He was born on September 24, 1956, to the late Earl D. and Frances J. (Dixon) Reed of Des Moines, Iowa.

Vince was a graduate of Coronado High School, El Paso, Texas in May, 1975.He served in the United States Navy until 1995. He held a double master’s in education from Ashford University and Phoenix University. Vincent taught Special Education-Life Skills at Hearne Elementary School for three years before finally retiring.

Vince was an educator most of his life. He loved football (namely the Dallas Cowboys). He enjoyed gardening, cooking out, fishing whenever and wherever he could. He also enjoyed traveling when time permitted and playing with our basset hounds. He is going to be missed greatly.

On October 16, 2004, Vincent married Joan Ellen (Morgan) Reed. Together they had four children, and eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two daughters, Tracye (Reed) Simmons and Jody of Georgetown, Texas; Courtney (Wilbanks) Miller and Curtis of Hutto; two sons, Kevin Lee Dixon and Faith (Batchelor) of Crosby and Ryan Ellis Dixon of Houston, Texas. Vince also has three brothers, Brian Reed and Paula of Waco, Texas; Christian Reed and Cary of Leander, Texas; Martin Reed and Caroline of Austin, Texas; and one Uncle Donovan Dixon of Florence, Texas.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Frances Reed.

The family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.

There will be no funeral services. Instead, there will be a Celebration of Life to be held at Ama’s Mexican Restaurant, 1647 N. Market Street, Hearne, Texas 77859 on September 6, 2025, at 3:00pm.
