Sue Nell Gandy

Sue Nell Gandy went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother whose love and faith blessed all who knew her.

Sue Nell was born in Seale, Texas to Alton Wallace and Betty Wallace. She married her true love, Henry Gandy in 1958. Their love for each other was immeasurable.

Throughout her life she was known for her devotion and unconditional love for her family and friends and love for the Lord and her church. She touched countless lives with kindness, faith, and love.

Sue dedicated her life to raising her children with love and faith. Her home was a place where family and friends gathered for good food and fellowship. Her grandchildren have fond memories of spending summers at Nanny and Papa's house.

She was the fun Mom who went with the kids to church camp. She was the Girl Scout Leader and the Boy scout leader. Her living room would be filled with cases of girl scout cookies to sell. She was the mom that spent quality time with her children. Hosting slumber parties, taking us to throw water balloons on Halloween, toilet paper houses, and an occasional Chinese fire drill at a red light. Good times that will never be forgotten.

She joined the workforce when one of her grandsons went to school. He would cry because he did not want to go to school. He wanted to stay with Nanny. Sue was at the school checking on him so much that the school offered her a job. She became a substitute teacher at Hearne ISD.

Sue Nell is survived by her husband, Henry Lee Gandy; sons Robert Gandy and James Gandy; daughters Susan Gandy and Melinda Berlan and her husband Andy; her grandchildren Robert Gandy, Sammantha Gandy, Jarod Hoffman and his wife Diana, Caleb Gandy, James Gandy, Dylan Gandy, Nicholas Berlan and his wife Elizabeth and Andrea Berlan and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
