Patricia Annette Cornelius Payne, more commonly referred to as Patsy, is a person who was truly placed on this earth as an ANGEL sent from Heaven above.
Patsy had such a caring and compassionate heart, a genuinely strong family value presence and an unwavering faith that only God himself could have created. In every aspect of life, Patsy always maintained a tremendous God given strength.
Patsy was first and foremost a TRUE mother to her two children. Our mother sincerely put family first in her life. Mom was always present in our lives. In our early years, she became a substitute teacher such that she could genuinely guide and direct her children in a most positive direction through the development years. In our latter years, Mom never missed an event, never missed a PTA meeting, never missed an opportunity to enhance her children’s lives. DeAnna and myself have been given guidance, direction and a God given value set that will carry us throughout our lifetimes.
Patsy also had a tremendous impact on her extended family. She was a caretaker to her mother and her aunt in their latter years. Giving her complete heart to the ones she loved in their greatest time of need. Patsy helped raise her three grandchildren, who truly became the joy of her life, her younger sister Dena Hinds and was also a mentor to Elizabeth Sambrano in her formative years. Patsy conveyed her God given value set, her strong compassion for others and a never wavering faith that will guide her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her mentee, her younger sister, and many future generations throughout their lifetimes in such a positive manor.
Patsy was also a very loving and dedicated wife to two very lucky men, Melvin Cornelius, (22 years of marriage) and David Payne (38 years of marriage). Both of which benefitted greatly from such an attractive, family/faith driven spouse.
Second to family, Patsy loved to fish, loved her cats, loved her dogs and, of course, loved her pet deer named Mama. Such love for animals, such love for family is very clear proof that Patsy was an ANGEL sent from heaven to enhance, guide and direct any and all that was fortunate enough to be blessed by her presence.
Our loss is truly Heaven’s gain.
God has taken one of his ANGELS back home.
