Michael Richard Shear

Michael Richard Shear passed away on September 23, 2026. He was born on February 20, 1979, in Bryan, Texas.

Michael was a proud Aggie whose life reflected both devotion and warmth. He attended A&M Consolidated, where he served as president of his senior class and graduated in 1997. He continued his education at ATM, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2001. His school years and college experience were clearly a meaningful part of who he was, and his love for Aggie traditions remained with him throughout his life. He was, in every sense, a true Aggie and an avid fan of Aggie sports.

Those who knew Michael will remember a man of deep kindness and quiet generosity. He had a kind heart and a gentle soul, always putting others first and genuinely caring for people. He will be remembered as a wonderful person, son, and brother, someone whose presence brought comfort and whose character left a lasting impression.

Michael found joy in life’s simple and memorable pleasures. He loved reading and music, and he especially enjoyed cruises and going to concerts. Some of his happiest times were spent on “food tours” with his family, sharing laughter, meals, and the easy companionship that made those moments so special.

He is survived with love by his Heavenly Father, his Lord and Savior, Jesus, as well as his earthly father and mother, Charlie and Judy Shear, and by his sister, Aubrey Shear. Their bond as a family was an important part of Michael’s life, and his memory will remain close to them always.

He was preceded in death by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and 4 grandparents, Evelyn Hamilton, Ernest Hamilton, Richard Shear, and Mary Ann Shear.

Visitation will be held on September 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 802 S Market St, Hearne, Texas 77859. A funeral service will follow there from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place afterward at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas.

Michael Richard Shear will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his loyal heart, and the care he gave so freely to others. His life touched those around him in enduring ways, and he will be dearly missed.
