Louise Lewis

Louise Ann “Weezie” Lewis, entered into glory on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the age of 86. She fell asleep in her bed at Franklin Nursing & Rehab Facility in Franklin, Texas, and awoke in Heaven. Weezie was born on February 28, 1939 in Calvert, Texas, in Robertson County, Texas to John and Katie (Tusa) Lewis. She was a devout Catholic who found great comfort in her faith. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hearne, Texas for many years.

After finishing high school in 1957 Weezie went to Sam Houston State College where she excelled in the marching band and baton twirling. When Weezie was in her early 20’s she had an accident which left her partially paralyzed. Weezie recovered, however she ended up with permanent deficiencies. Weezie moved back to Calvert, Texas, to live with her parents and help them run the family business, Lewis Grocery. With assistance from her family and friends, Weezie was able to keep the grocery store open for many years.

Weezie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katie (Tusa) Lewis; Uncle, Tony Lewis; Aunt, Mary Lena La Barbera Lewis. Survivors include many distant cousins.

A Rosary will be held on October 30, 2025, 11:00am, at Memorial Funeral Home, located at 802 South Market Street, Hearne, Texas 77859. The entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
