Jerry A. Burns, age 69, of Bryan, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 10:56 p.m.

He was born on December 09, 1952 to Harold Eugene and Virginia Burns in Osceola, Arkansas. 

Jerry knew he was called to be a preacher at the age of 13 and after many years of arguing with God… God finally won.

He met the love of his life at the age of 18 in Cooter Missouri. He married her a year later on July  29th, 1971 and made Linda Gail Blagg, Mrs. Burns.  They spent a faithful and loving, 51 years together, and they were blessed with 6 children and 16 grandchildren. 

When Jerry was 21 he started pastoring his first church in Steele, MO and dedicated the rest of his life to the ministry and serving God. 

His family describes him as kind, compassionate, generous,  and faithful. He lived his life with integrity and a fierce love for his family. From his faith and love, his family has learned to be faithful to God even when its difficult, to never give up and  to always trust God. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda; his 3 sons: Nicholas Burns and his wife Brandy from Cameron, TX, Michael Johnson and his wife Hollee of Crestview, FL and Micah Burns and his wife Brittany of Bremen, GA; 2 daughters: Chasity Hedlund and her husband Per of College Station, TX and Melinda Linkem and her husband Chris of Bryan, TX; and one daughter in law, Kristie Burns,   16 grandchildren: Lorelai, Toby, Seth, Joel, Jaidyn, Righlee, Zeke, Mykee, Tahvi, Gerri Paige, Ziyah, Aviah, Brent, Elijah and Josiah, and a little girl on the way, 5 sisters , 2 brothers and many other family and friends and the congregation of Wellspring Community Church ( formerly Gause Full Gospel) of Gause, TX. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Eugene and Virginia Burns,  his sister Reba Curl, his brother Udell Burns, and his oldest son, Jason Burns.
