Jean Harlow (Hartman) Clark, 91, passed away on June 5, 2025 at her daughter’s residence in Hearne, Texas. She was born on October 5, 1933, to the late Clarence E. and Rosa A.(Belskamper) Hartman in Moweaqua, Illinois. On December 17, 1950, she married Frances Albert “Frank” Clark. On May 8, 2008, he preceded her in death.
Jean was born into a coal mining family and had a difficult childhood. Family tragedies led her to leave school at a very early age to help with family needs. That didn’t stop this little gal. In 1950 she met Frank and their adventures began. Sometimes life was a struggle for the couple but somehow they always pulled through. Jean and Frank traveled the country finding work and creating their family. Together they had six children in six different states. They finally settled in Holden, Ohio and then moved to Hearne, Texas to be closer to their family.
Jean aka “Granny” was a homemaker most of her life. She loved the Young and the Restless, crochet, word search puzzles and collecting salt and pepper shakers. Jean loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. She will be missed by many.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosalee Hunt (Melvin) of Continental, Ohio, Mary Ann Clark-Bustos (the late Eleazar) of Hearne; one son Ola Clark of Hearne; fifteen grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother Jackie Hartman of Ottawa, Ohio.
Jean was preceded in death by a son Lane Edward Clark, two daughters Peggy Ann Campise, Francis Jean “Frankie” Dickman, three brothers Donald Hartman, Joseph Hartman, Clarence Hartman, Two sisters, Glynne Ellen Langford, Georgia Louise Stacey.
