Garth Ernest Fletcher

Garth Ernest Fletcher passed from this life to his heavenly home on April 23, 2024. He passed away peacefully in his home with his three children by his side. 

Garth was born on May 24, 1944 to Vern and Vivian Fletcher in Richford, Vermont. Garth graduated high school in 1962 from Carmel Central in Carmel, New York. 

He then attended college at State University of New York. After college, Garth joined the United States Navy and proudly served from 1965 – 1969. 

After serving in the US Navy, Garth married Diane Gandy and they raised their three children together: Tammy Diane Hood, Garth Malcolm Fletcher, and Laurie Christine Chandler. 

After his 36 year successful career as a fleet manager in the automotive industry in Houston, Garth moved to Bryan, TX to be closer to family before ultimately settling in Franklin, TX.

Garth had a huge zest for life and many loves, some of which were classic cars, flipping houses, landscaping, nature, dancing, exercise, traveling and, above all, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Coming from humble beginnings, Garth was an overcomer and had a determination that few possess. He was an ambitious goal-setter and set the standard for excellence in his career in auto sales.

He approached life with humor, humbleness, and high standards. He made the relationships in his life a priority with both family and friends. Throughout his life, he always maintained his close relationship with his dear sister, Sylvia Hamel. Time spent with Garth, always meant fun would be had, sweets would be eaten, and something would be improved- whether that be your house, your car, or your yard.
