It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Francis Darnell Threadgill, who passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 30, 1939, in Franklin, TX she was the cherished daughter of Britt and Ora Meadors.
Darnell dedicated her life to her family and her career as a realtor and entrepreneur owning her own car business. A woman of extraordinary strength and grace, she built a life defined by love, resilience, and unwavering support.
As a mother, she raised her children with endless patience, teaching them the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion. Her home was always a welcoming haven, filled with warmth and the aroma of her fabulous home cooked meals and award willing apple pie!
Her greatest joy, however, came from being a grandmother. Affectionately known as Granny, adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Cliff Vinton, sister Diane Carter, loving children, Lisa Sawyer, Hollister Thomas, Donald Threadgill, Ray Threadgill Jr., Judy Martinez, Lenore Gonzales, and Richard Vinton, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and countless extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Wayne Johnson.
We will celebrate her remarkable life at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne TX on Thursday, July 16 at 11 am. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share their favorite memories.
In lieu of flowers, our family kindly request that memorial donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.makeawish.org.
We chose Make-A-Wish because of the hope, joy, and unforgettable memories it brings to children and families facing critical illnesses. As many of you know, our family has experienced firsthand the challenges of childhood cancer through Addison’s journey, and we have seen how important those moments of light and happiness can be during difficult times.
We can think of no better way to honor Grandma’s memory and generous spirit than by helping create those moments for another child and family.
