Elizabeth "Liz" Monica Donaldson, of Aberdeen, Maryland, left our world unexpectedly on Monday, August 26, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, sister, and Sergeant First Class among many other titles. Funeral arrangements include a Visitation on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne, Texas, from 5-7 PMwith the Most Holy Rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hearne, Texas. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Hearne, Texas.

Liz was born in Hearne on November 23, 1973, to Mary Ruiz and David Alvarado, Sr. Her early years were spent in Hearne before she moved to San Angelo. She graduated from Central High School in San Angelo. In 1993, Liz enlisted in the United States Army to begin a career of dedicated and faithful service to our country. 

 During her illustrious career of 20 years in the US Army, Liz was stationed at many places including Fort Cavazos in Texas, Fort Irwin in California, Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. She also served in Alaska, South Korea, and Kuwait. Liz received many decorations and medals over her career that included the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Her primary specialty was Chemical OPS. Liz retired as a Sergeant First Class from the US Army in 2013. We thank her for her service.

 Liz was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Aberdeen, Maryland.

 Liz is survived by her husband, Brian Donaldson, and her mother, Mary Ruiz. She is also survived by her children, Myeesha Alvarado, Destini Alvarado, DeCarlos "DJ" Donaldson, Javon Donaldson, and her granddaughters Jaylee and Jericha. In addition, she is also survived by her brothers, David Alvarado, Jr. and his wife, Raquel, Joseph Alvarado and his wife, Diane, and David Angel Alvarado. Her mother-in-law, Mary Donaldson, and brother-in-law, Sean Donaldson also survive her. Liz is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

 Liz was preceded in death by her father, David Alvarado, Sr., her maternal grandparents, Eva and Margarito Ruiz, Sr., and her paternal grandparents, Carmen and Carlos Alvarado.

 Liz is very loved by her family and will be missed dearly.
