Calvert

Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Dehart Endsley, 80, of Calvert, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023.  Services will take place Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Hearne, Texas.  She will be buried alongside her daughter at Sunnyside Cemetery in Calvert, Texas.

Liz was born November 4, 1942 in Jacksonville, Texas, to Leonard and Frankie Dehart.  She married to the love of her life and best friend, Tommy Endsley, October 31, 1958 and they had three daughters and one son.  As a young woman, Liz went to school to be a beautician and worked as a hairdresser for over a decade.  After moving to Hearne, Texas with her husband and young children in the 60’s, she engaged multiple career pursuits from baking to entrepreneurship, but her primary role as ‘Chief of the Endsley household’ was her most coveted title and the one she took most seriously.  She was an avid lover of all things family and baking, never missing an opportunity to feed her family on any occasion.

She was welcomed into God’s embrace by her parents, Leonard and Frankie, her beloved daughter, Melissa Jane, her sisters and brother with their spouses, and multiple other beloved family, in-laws and friends.

Those left behind to remember and celebrate her life include her husband Tommy Endsley, her beloved daughters Donna Wade and Rhonda Russell, with husband Mark Russell, and her beloved son, Leonard Scott Endsley; her six grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa Pruitt, Dustin Endsley, Precious ‘Peppy’ Wade, Terry and Cherrie Endsley, Kymberli and Brandon Blanco, Mark and Hunter Russell, and formerly by marriage, Michael Pruitt, Sr.  She has 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  Other loved ones left to remember her life are her sister-in-law, Jan Conner, numerous nieces and nephews, and multiple lifelong friends.

The pallbearers for her service include her great-grandson Michael Pruitt, Jr, her grandsons, Dustin Endsley, Terry Endsley, Mark Russell, Jr, Michael Pruitt, Sr, and Brandon Blanco, and her nephews Jamie Conner and Billy Dehart.
