Deane Smith Hahn

On April 1, 2025, surrounded by her family Deane Smith Hahn, eighty two of Bryan, Texas, went home to her Heavenly Father.

She was born on August 7th, 1942, in Kingsville, Texas to Henry and Joyce Smith.

Deane graduated as a Valedictorian from Stephen F. Austin High school in 1960. She attended Rice, Texas A&M, and Texas Technological College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and minor in English.

After College she worked as a computer programmer specializing in bank processing, as a consultant for small businesses with PC based accounting systems, and as an instructor at North Harris County College.

Her life was grounded in her Christian faith and love for God’s word. She enjoyed sitting in one of the several rocking chairs on the front porch of her Rural home watching and listening to all of God’s creations.

Deane will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Deane is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Joyce Smith.

She is survived by the Love of her life and Husband of 45 years, Edlin A. Hahn; son and daughter in law, Damon and Karen Schiller of New Waverly; daughter Melissa Schiller of Bryan; her grandchildren, Cody Schiller of New Waverly; Bradley Castanon of Bryan; Jessica Garcia and her husband Rudy Garcia of Conroe; Chris Rolin and his wife Ashley Rolin of New Waverly; and her great grandchildren, Wyatt Rolin, Olivia Garcia, Alexxa Garcia, Julian Garcia, and Alena Garcia.

The family requests donations be made to Faith Bible Church or that you donate a book to a school in Deane's honor.

Services will be held on Thursday April 10th at Faith Bible Church 1282 FM 2776 Bryan, Tx 77808. Visitation 10-10:45, Service 11-11:45, graveside service immediately after at Wheelock cemetery, and reception at Faith Bible Church following graveside service.
