Betty Louise Williams Taylor passed away on July 13, 2026.
She was born on January 4, 1943 in Houston, Texas, where she was raised by her parents B.W. and Myra Louise Williams.
She attended M.B Smiley High School and during this time she met and married the love of her life, Donald Dewayne Taylor on June 17, 1959.
Betty was a homemaker for many years, but as their children grew up, she worked for Homestead Hospital in the accounting department and then later worked at Nortex Corporation, an oil and gas company, in the land department where she retired after 25 years.
Betty was extremely talented in sewing, quilting, ceramic work, crochet, canning and many other crafts she picked up in her later years.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Taylor, her 2 sons, David Dewayne Taylor and Ricky Allen Taylor, her daughter, Bonnie Lynn Taylor Schumann (Randy) and her brother-in-law, Robert Taylor. Her grandchildren: Tracy Dianne Taylor, Allen Dewayne Gadus (Romy), Billy Schumann (Lauren) and Courtney Schumann. Great grandchildren: Faith Miles, Kinsley McDermand, Dawson Taylor, Bella Taylor, River Schumann, Price Schumann and Myers Schumann. Her nieces and nephew: Buddy Gurganus, Tina Summers, Danny Gurganus (Dalene), Martha Johnson, and Dixie Griggs and well as a multitude of loving great nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Bonnie Moody and Dorothy Gurgangus and her beloved grandson, Dustin Dewayne Taylor.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and great aunt and she will be missed by all.
