Ada Perez Sifuentes

July 28, 1939 — September 9, 2023

Hearne

Our dear mother, Ada Perez Sifuentes, 84, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2023, in Hearne.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm, with the rosary recited at 7pm, on Thursday, September 14, 2023, and the funeral Mass on Friday, at 10am, September 15, 2023, all services at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hearne. Interment will follow in San Jose Cemetery. Officiating the Mass will be Rev. Tom Frank, family friend for many years. Services are in the care of Memorial Funeral Home.

Ada was born on July 28, 1939, to Leandro Perez and Susanna Lopez in Mission, Texas.  She grew up as a migrant worker moving around with the family, wherever work in the fields took them, and ended up in Mumford, Texas.  She met the love of her life, Delfino Sifuentes, in Hearne, Texas.  They were married on April 27, 1957 and started a family.  Ada and Delfino were married for 66 years before her passing and raised four daughters in Hearne, Texas.

Ada was a giving and loving woman and was a devout Catholic.  She loved Jesus and her church, but her greatest passion was her family.  She was a homemaker and later in life became a Cosmetologist.  She was very proud of her heritage and spent long hours teaching Ballet Folklorico dance to area children and had performances all around Hearne and surrounding towns.  Ada had a great passion for dancing and music, family outings and just loved to have fun.  Her favorite saying was “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere.” She never met a stranger and always welcomed you into her home with open arms.  She told every child she met to call her grandma. Her selflessness to serve Christ and others was her testament to her faith, morals and values.

“Mom we are so grateful for the way we were raised. You were never afraid to be our mother — to put your foot down, to teach us right from wrong, to make sure we did our best. You always let us know we had a mama who cared about us, who believed in us, and who was there for us no matter what was going on in our lives.”

Ada is preceded in death by her father, Leandro Perez, her mother Susanna Lopez, her brother, Ruben Gonzales, her twin brother and sister Adan and Eva Perez, and grand-daughter Natalie Ann Mosqueda.

She is survived by her husband, of 66 years, Delfino Sifuentes; her daughters; Norma Magirl, Maria Sifuentes, Margaret Sifuentes and Rosalinda Talley and her spouse, Daryl; ten grand-children and twelve great-grandchildren.
